Top Latino TV Shows
This summer’s slate of new and returning TV shows has Latino talent in some of the most critically-acclaimed and popular shows. Whether its a comedy, sci-fi, action or drama series, there should be something for you to tune into every day. Each listing has a show description, Latino connection and where to watch.
1. Primo
This new comedy about a teenager grappling with issues like dating, college and friendship while taking sometimes questionable advice from his loving, but overbearing five uncles is a must-watch. The series stars Ignacio Diaz-Silverio in the lead role. Puerto Rican actress Christina Vidal (right) also stars as Drea, his single and resourceful mom. The predominately Latino cast includes Carlos Santos (left), Johnny Rey Diaz (middle), Henri Esteve, Efraín Villa, Jonathan Medina as the uncles and Filipino-Latino actor Martin Martinez, as a best friend. The show was created and based on the life of Mexican American journalist and author Shea Serrano.

2. This Fool
Comedian and show creator Chris Estrada returns as perennially down on his luck Julio for season 2 of “This Fool.” This season 30-something Julio has finally moved out of his mother’s house and trying to start a cafe with former ex-cons after his last job at “Hugs Not Thugs” went bust. Along for the ride is his ex-con cousin and now roommate Luis played by fellow Mexican American comedian Frankie Quiñones. The show’s cast includes Latinos Michelle Ortiz, Laura Patalano, Julia Vera and Sandra Hernandez. Fred Armisen, who is of Venezuelan descent, is an executive producer.

3. With Love
The Diaz family is back for season 2 with every relationship facing some new love challenges in this dramedy series. Central to this season’s story is Jorge Diaz, Jr.’s (Mark Indelicato) upcoming wedding to his boyfriend and Lily’s (Emeraude Toubia) love triangle with Nick and Santiago (Rome Flynn). The show is stacked with additional Latino talent including Constance Marie, Benito Martinez, Renée Victor and film legend Pepe Serna. Show creator Gloria Calderón Kellett, who is Cuban-American, has a recurring role as free-spirited Tia Gladys.

4. Only Murders in the Building
Selena Gomez’s Mabel Mora is once again solving a murder with her fellow true crime podcasters in season 3 of “Only Murders in the Building.” This time the trio must solve the murder of an actor in Oliver’s new Broadway show. The trio’s future is also up in the air as Mabel’s aunt has sold her condo. Gomez, who is Mexican and Italian American, is also an executive producer of the show. Nicaraguan and Dominican actor Adrian Martinez appears in one episode.

5. Twisted Metal
Bolivian and Colombian actress Stephanie Beatriz steals every scene as “Quiet” in Peacock’s new TV adaption of the popular video game. Beatriz plays one of the leads and a mysterious bandit out for revenge. The show takes place in a post-apocalyptic world where Beatriz and a courier with amnesia, form an alliance to take a secret package halfway across the country for a big pay-off, if they can survive the trip. Latino recurring actors include Richard Cabral and Diany Rodriguez.

6. Ahsoka
Cuban and Puerto Rican actress Rosario Dawson takes on the iconic role of Jedi Ahsoka Tano in Disney’s new sci-fi “Star Wars” spin-off series. Dawson plays an older, live-action version of the role made famous in the “Clone Wars” animated series. She also appeared in the role in “The Mandalorian.” This miniseries takes place after the fall of the empire and follows Ahsoka as she investigates an emerging threat.

7. One Piece
The much anticipated live-action adaptation of the popular adventure manga and anime series “One Piece” stars Mexican actor Iñaki Godoy as Monkey D. Luffy. The series follows Luffy, who gains a rubber-skin superpower, on his journey to becoming the king of the pirates and finding the One Piece treasure. Comedian Ilia Isorelýs Paulino, who is Dominican American, is also part of the cast.

8. The Horror of Dolores Roach
This new critically-acclaimed black comedy stars TV-veteran and Puerto Rican actress Justina Machado in the title role. As Dolores, Machado returns to her Washington Heights, NY, neighborhood after a stint in prison only to find gentrification. She gets a job as a masseuse working in the basement an empanada shop. When her new livelihood is threatened, Dolores takes action leading to a new ingredient and popularity of the empanada shop. Also part of the cast are Alejandro Hernandez, Judy Reyes and Jessica Pimentel. Based on the play “Empanada Loca” and the “The Horror of Dolores Roach Podcast.” Gloria Calderón Kellett and theater actress Daphne Rubin-Vega, who originated the role, are executive producers.

9. Special Ops: Lioness
Dominican and Puerto Rican actress Zoe Saldaña, plays double duty in this new spy thriller as a lead actress and executive producer. Saldaña plays a CIA Officer in charge of the Special Ops Lioness program, which is based on a real-life, all-female Army taskforce who helped to fight terrorism by building rapport with local women and gathering intelligence. Brazilian Canadian actress Laysla De Oliveira stars as the a rookie in the Lioness program with a key role.

10. I’m A Virgo
Dominican American actor Jharrel Jerome takes on the lead role of “Cootie” in this new surreal coming-of-age comedy about a 13-foot tall man who lives an isolated life surrounded by comics and TV shows. His life changes when he escapes to experience the real world. Jerome is also an executive producer on the show.

11. Harlan Coben’s Shelter
Dominican American actor Jaden Michael leads the cast of this new mystery show based on the book. Michael plays Mickey Bolitar, a teen who moves to a new town after his father dies. He winds up getting involved in trying to solve the mystery of a missing student and discovers the secrets of his new suburban community with the help of his friends. Colombian American Patricia Cardoso and Edward Ornelas direct some episodes. Ornelas and Alfred Barrios, Jr. serve as producers on the show.

12. Reservation Dogs
Mexican and Ponca Nation actress Elva Guerra returns as complicated character Jackie for the third and final season of this award-winning show about indigenous teens growing up on a reservation in rural Oklahoma. In the beginning Jackie starts off as a villainous character as the leader of the NDN Mafia. But she’s on a redemption arc and helped the “ Reservation Dogs” by the end of season 2.

13. Lincoln Lawyer
Mexican actor Manuel Garcia-Rulfo is back as hot shot lawyer Mickey Haller for Part 2, Season 2 of “The Lincoln Lawyer.” The show which is based on the book and movie, follows Mickey as he recovers from a pill addiction and tries to revive his career while working out of his car. This season Mickey is back on top and takes on a new high profile case. Joining the cast are Puerto Rican and Italian actress Lana Parilla, who plays a restaurateur and murder suspect; Brazilian and Black actress Yaya DaCosta as a prosecutor and Mexican icon Angélica María as Mickey’s mother.

14. Sweet Magnolias
Spanish and Cuban American actress JoAnna García Swisher and the other Sweet Magnolias take on new challenges and new relationships in season 3 of Netflix’s TV adaptation of the best-selling books. Swisher as Maddie Townshend tries to navigate her relationship with baseball coach Cal, as she tries to help him deal with the aftermath after the fight at Sullivan’s.

15. Never Have I Ever
Black and Mexican American actress Lee Rodriguez is back for the final season of coming-of-age show “Never Have I Ever” as steady best friend and queer STEM geek Fabiola Torres. Her character has to navigate her post-high school plans without betraying her best friend Devi.

16. What We Do in the Shadows
Critic-favorite supernatural show “What We Do in the Shadows” Season 5 finds Harvey Guillén’s Guillermo de la Cruz dealing with the ramifications of taking blood from a vampire master. Things don’t go quite as planned for the vampire familiar/descent of vampire hunter Van Helsing. Guillén is a Mexican American. Myrna Cabello and Frankie Quiñones have recurring roles as Guillermo’s family. The show is about the daily lives of four vampires living in modern day New York who've been together for hundreds of years. It’s a spin-off of a movie.

17. Manifest
In this final season of this supernatural drama, Cuban-American actor J.R. Ramirez continues in his role as Detective Jared Vasquez. This season Jared must resolve his continuing feelings for his former fiancée Michaela, who mysteriously returned with several other passengers five years after he thought she died in a plane crash. Meanwhile Michaela and the other passengers are still dealing with visions and their potential “Death Day.”

18. Star Trek: Strange New Worlds
Colombian American actress Melissa Navia who plays Lt. Erica Ortegas, a pilot, is expected to step away from the controls of the star ship and get her own adventure in season 2 of this “Star Wars” prequel series. The season is also expected to dive into her past and military background. “Star Trek: Strange New Worlds” follows Christopher Pike and his crew 10 years before “Star Trek” the original series.

19. Heels
Black and Puerto Rican actor Allen Maldonado reprises his role as wrester Deandre "Rooster Robbins" Milton for season 2 of sports drama show “Heels.” Also returning for season 2 are Latinos Roxton Garcia as Thomas Spade and Robby Ramos as wrestler Diego Cottonmouth. Nnewcomers to season 2 are Puerto Rican actor Josh Segarra as a character called Brooks Rizzo and real-life retired pro wrestler AJ Mendez, who is of Puerto Rican descent, plays Elle Dorado. The show is about two rival brothers who vie for their late father’s wrestling dynasty in Georgia.

20. Minx
Colombian actor Oscar Montoya is back for season 2 of “Minx” as photographer Richie. The show is about a feminist who creates the first erotic magazine for women in the 1970s. In season 2 the characters all have to grapple with rising fame. Season 2 also includes actors Rose Bianco, who is Puerto Rican, as Tia Sofia and Joshua Gomez.

21. Full Circle
An investigation into a botched kidnapping uncovers long-held secrets connecting multiple characters — including one played by Dominican American actor Jharel Jerome— and cultures in present day New York City. This is a limited six-episode series.

22. The Bear
Puerto Rican actress Liza Colón-Zayas’ no B.S.-veteran cook Tina is bonding with the younger cooks in season 2 of the dramedy hit “The Bear.” The show is about an award-winning chef who returns home to Chicago to run the family’s sandwich shop after his brother commits suicide.

23. Killing It
Puerto Rican and deaf actress Stephanie Nogueras is back for season 2 of the capitalism business comedy “Killing It.” Nogueras plays the ex-wife of Craig, whose latest scheme to get rich is to run a palmetto berry farm.

24. Silo
Rick Gomez plays a maintenance worker with a connection to the black market in Apple TV+ dystopian show “Silo”. The show centers around a group of people living underground in a post-apocalyptic world.

25. The Summer I Turned Pretty
Italian and Puerto Rican actor David Iacono returns for season 2 as lovable high schooler Cam in this teen romantic-drama series based on the best-selling book of the same name. “The Summer I Turned Pretty” also features Brazilian and Filipino actor Alfredo Narciso as a famous novelist.

26. Glamorous
Aspiring influencer Marco Mejia —played by non-binary, Mexican American actor Miss Benny— lands a dream job with a makeup mogul in this new comedy for Netflix. Dominican American actress Diana Maria Riva also stars as Marco’s mom, Julia.

27. Black Mirror
Anthology sci-fi series Black Mirror season 6 has episodes featuring Latino actors Danny Ramirez and Salma Hayek. Ramirez, who is Colombian and Mexican, stars in a episode about a starlet stalked by a photographer. Hayek, who is Mexican, plays a fictionalized version of herself.

28. America’s Got Talent
Colombian actress and business mogul Sofía Vergara will once again take her seat on the judges panel for the 18th season of talent competition reality TV show “America’s Got Talent.”

29. Honest Renovations
Jessica Alba, who is of Mexican descent, co-hosts design show “Honest Renovations” which helps deserving families overcome parenting challenges through the renovation and transformation of home spaces. The show is in its second season.

30. Revealed
Mexican and Native American designer Veronica Valencia redesigns spaces based on her client’s cultural identity, sometimes working with genealogists in the new home renovation show “Revealed.”

31. And Just Like That
Mexican American, non-binary actress Sara Ramirez’s controversial character Che gets to show a more vulnerable side in season 2 as Che explores their relationship with single mom Miranda and deals with career trouble. The show is a spin-off of “Sex and the City” and follows the same characters (with an few new cast members) in their 50s.

32. My Dad the Bounty Hunter
In season 2 of this animated, family show, the kids must save their dad voiced by Cuban American actor Laz Alonso, who is an intergalactic bounty hunter who has gone missing.

33. Skull Island
Mexican actor Nicolas Cantu voices the main protagonist in this new animated TV spin-off of the “King Kong” movie of the same name. Benjamin Bratt, who is of Peruvian and Quechan descent, will also star.

33. Captain Fall
A good-hearted, rookie sea captain finds himself at the helm of a smuggling ship for an international cartel who’s using him as a fall guy in case the authorities ever catch up to them in this new adult animated show. The series stars Mexican American actor Alejandro Edda, one of the crew members who is on the scheme.
