Top Latino TV Shows: Fall 2023

From crime to sci-fi, Latino and Hispanic actors star in some of this fall’s most critically-acclaimed and popular TV shows. Each listing has a show description, Latino connection and where to watch. Shows are listed by premiere date.

Power Book IV: Force

Mexican American actor Manuel Eduardo Ramirez stars this season as Chicago drug lord Miguel Garcia in season 2 of “PowerBook IV: Force” a spin-off of the “Power Book” series. The show follows fan favorite character Tommy Egan as he tries to avenge the death of a love one and become the biggest drug dealer in Chicago. Cuban and Colombian American actress Carmela Zumbado appears in the show as Mireya Garcia.

The Morning Show

Spanish and Cuban American actor Néstor Carbonell returns as endearing TV weatherman Yanko Flores for season 3 of Apple TV+’s “The Morning Show.” The series is a behind the scenes look of the cutthroat world of morning news. In season three, the future of the network is thrown into question and loyalties are pushed to the brink when a tech titan takes an interest in UBA.

VOCES American Historia: The Untold History of Latinos

This new three-part documentary series, is hosted by Colombian actor, comedian and producer John Leguizamo. Each episode will combine cultural travel segments as well as entertaining interstitials, unveiling Leguizamo’s passionate revelations about his favorite Latino figures. The cultural segments will feature visits to historical sites as well as interviews with notable historians and Latino cultural figures.

American Horror Story: Delicate

Black and Puerto Rican transgender actress Michaela Jaé Rodriguez (not pictured) will play a recurring role in Ryan Murphy’s latest iteration of horror series “American Horror Story.” This season the show centers around an actress trying to get pregnant who worries that someone may be targeting her. Rodriquez plays a recurring character named Talia Donovan.

The Continental

Mishel Prada stars in this three-part limited prequel series that is a spin-off of the “John Wick” movie franchise. The show is about the origin of the iconic hotel-for-assassins through the eyes of a young Winston Scott in ‘70s New York City. Prada is Dominican, Mexican, Puerto Rican and French. She plays a police officer KD who is tracking what’s happening at the hotel.

Love is Blind

Puerto Rican geologist Lydia Velez Gonzalez’s relationship with younger man and petroleum engineer James “Milton” Johnson, IV is one of the relationships chronicled in season 5 of dating reality show “Love is Blind.” Latino Ismael “Izzy” Zapata Jr.’s relationship with Stacy Snyder is also included this season.

Dancing with the Stars

Latinas Xochitl Gomez and Lele Pons are part of the season 23 cast of competition show “Dancing with the Stars.” Gomez is Mexican American film and TV actress known for her role as superhero America Chavez in the movie, “Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness.” Pons, who is Venezuelan, is a YouTuber, podcaster and singer.

Where to watch: ABC, premiere date Sept. 26, 2023.

LoterÍa Loca

Mexican actor and telenovela star Jaime Camil will host new game show “LoterÍa Loca.” The new series is based on the traditional Latin game of chance. Each episode features two players going head-to-head choosing cards that can either add up to big prizes or reveal wild challenges. Each first-place player moves on to compete for the ultimate cash prize.

Where to watch: CBS, premieres Oct. 2, 2023.

Found

Belizean actor Arlen Escarpeta stars as agoraphobic tech expert Zeke Wallace in new crime series “Found.” The shows follows a team of recovery specialists who find missing people who have been ignored by law enforcement.

Where to watch: NBC. premieres Oct. 3, 2023 at 10 p.m. EST.

Quantum Leap

Mason Alexander Park, who is a Spanish and Mexican non-binary actor, returns for season 2 of the sci-fi series reboot “Quantum Leap.” The show follows a scientist working on a special device who winds up disappearing in time and tries to find his way back home. Park stars as Ian Wright, the lead programmer who rebuilds "Ziggy," the AI unit that provides crucial information about leaps through time.

Magnum P.I.

Mexican American actor Jay Hernandez will be back for the fifth and final season of the rebooted series “Magnum P.I.” Hernandez will once again step into the leading man shoes as former Navy SEAL Thomas Magnum who repurposes his skills to become a private investigator.

Our Flag Means Death

Non-binary Puerto Rican actor Vico Ortiz returns as pirate Jim Jimenez for season 2 of “Our Flag Means Death.” This queer comedy series is based (very) loosely on the true adventures of 18th century gentleman turned pirate Stede Bonnet and his struggles to gain the respect of his crew and finding love with Captain Blackbeard. Fred Armisen is part of the supporting cast as shifty barkeep Geraldo. Armisen is Venezuelan, German and Korean.

Loki

Spanish and Irish American actor Rafael Casal joins the cast of sci-fi show “Loki” for season 2. Disney has kept his role under wraps. The show is a spin-off of the “Thor” movies and follows the god of mischief, Loki, as he travels through time and multiverses.

Where to watch: Disney+, premieres Oct. 6, 2023.

Fall of the House of Usher

Mexican actress Paola Núñez stars in this new horror miniseries based on the Edgar Allen Poe short story of the same name. The horror drama follows the CEO of a corrupt pharmaceutical company, who must face his shady past when each of his children begin to die in mysterious and brutal ways.

Where to watch: Netflix, premiere date Oct. 12, 2023.

Neon

Neon follows three friends who move from a small town in Florida to Miami with the hopes of making it big in the world of reggaeton through a comedic lens. The show stars Puerto Rican actor Tyler Dean Flores. The cast also includes Latinos Santiago Cabrera, Jordana Brewster, Genesis Rodriguez as Isa, Jhayco , and Villana.

The show is co-created by executive producer Shea Serrano, who is Mexican American.

Wolf Like Me

Venezuelan actor Edgar Ramirez joins the cast of supernatural dramedy “Wolf Like Me” for season 2 as a college professor with secrets. The series follows a werewolf who falls in love with a single father who is a widower.

Where to watch: Peacock, premieres Oct. 19, 2023.

Bosch Legacy

Peruvian American actress Denise G. Sanchez returns for season 2 of “Bosch Legacy” as veteran cop Reina Vasquez. The show follows a police detective Harry Bosch who retires and becomes a private investigator. It is also a spin-off of the police procedural series “Bosch” which was based off a bestselling book series.

Elite

Spanish-language high school drama series “Elite” has become a worldwide phenomenon and returns for season 7. The show follows three working class students who enroll in a prestigious prep school where the clash between the students results in murder.

Fear the Walking Dead

Latino actors Colman Domingo, Rubén Blades and Danay García are back as part of the ensemble cast for the final episodes of “The Walking Dead” spin-off series. The show is a prequel series that follows survivors at the onset of a zombie apocalypse.

Where to watch: AMC, premiere date Oct. 22, 2023.

De La Calle


”De La Calle” explores and map the evolution of urbano music and cultures that ignited the musical revolution of rap, reggaeton, bachata, Latin trap, and cumbia. The docuseries features interviews with Residente, Mala Rodriguez, Nicky Jam, Nicki Nicole, Villano Antillano, Sech, Goyo, Nathy Peluso, Santa Fe Klan, Jessie Reyes, Feid, Princess Nokia, Kombilesa Mi, Renato and more.

Murder at the end of the World


“A Murder at the End of the World” is a mystery series about nine people invited by a reclusive billionaire to participate in a retreat at a remote location. When one of the other guests is found dead, an amateur sleuth must use all of her skills to prove it was murder before the killer takes another life. Raúl Esparza and Alice Braga are part of the cast.

Scott Pilgrim Takes Off

Comedian and actress Aubrey Plaza, who is of Puerto Rican descent, reprises her role of snarky Julie Powers in this anime adaptation of the live-action movie “Scott Pilgrim vs. the World" and comic book.

Where to watch: Netflix, premieres Nov. 17, 2023.

Fargo

Irish, Swedish and Puerto Rican actor Nick Gomez (not pictured) joins the cast of the crime anthology “Fargo” for season 5. This season the show centers around a seemingly normal Midwestern housewife whose past comes to haunt her when crimes start happening in her town. Gomez plays a character named Joaquin.
